FAQ

What does the print sale support?
100% of net proceeds will support NYC Salt’s visual arts education and college preparation classes for underserved high school students in NYC.

What is the duration of this sale?
The sale is year round for student work. We have special sales of donated work from professionals two times a year.

What is the price of the prints?
Print prices start at $150 for an 11x14 size and go up to between $250-$400 for a 16x20 size. Editions are indicated on each artist’s page.

Can I order a print in a different size?
Since this is a special sale with deeply discounted work, we can only offer prints at the sizes indicated. If there is a print you are interested in having larger, you can reach out directly to the photographer but the money will not be donated to NYC Salt.

I'm a photographer. Can I submit an image to be a part of the sale? How can I get involved?
Please submit interest here: alicia@nycsalt.org

What is the paper type of the large format prints?
Hahnemühle is supplying archival paper for the prints. Purchased photographs will be printed on their Photo Rag® 308gsm and/or Photo Rag® Baryta paper. The papers are museum quality archival paper designed to meet museum longevity standards.

Will the prints have a matte? Will they be framed?
No. All prints are unframed and unmatted.

Are prints signed by each artist?
Yes. Archival stickers with the artist’s signature are attached to the back of each print. In some cases, the artists have sent digital signatures which we will print underneath the photo.

What printing method is used for the large format prints?
The prints are created using an inkjet printing process that recreates a digital image by propelling droplets of ink onto paper and other substrates. We use the most current printers in the industry and work with Epson archival inks.

What is the cost of shipping?
Domestic shipping is $20. International shipping is $35.

When and how will I receive my print?
Your print will be shipped priority mail by FedEx in the US and USPS if international. The prints ship within 5-7 days of receiving the print order. Please allow extra time as shipping is slow during the pandemic. You will receive a tracking number once the print has shipped.

We are not able to accommodate rush production or shipping at this time.

Please note if you are choosing to ship international, duties and taxes may apply upon delivery. Recipients are responsible for paying any import duties, customs or fees, as they are not included in the price at checkout. We have no control over when or for how much these fees are charged (it varies by country, city, and package), and we are not able to take care of them on your behalf.

Keep in mind that production timelines are full business days. For example, if an order is placed on a Tuesday, the first full business day in production is the following business day, Wednesday and does not include Saturday or Sunday.
